Terms and ConditionsIn these terms and conditions the term “company” means Compass Sea School Ltd, its Instructors or any sub-contracted person. 1. If the company is unable to meet any booking through circumstances beyond its control, the client(s) may be offered another booking at the company’s discretion. 2. If the company is unable to offer the client(s) or the client(s) are unable to accept such an alternative booking, the company will refund the course fee paid. The company’s liability is limited to this. 3. The company will decide how and when any course is run and whether or not the course will go out onto the water. The company’s decision is final. Payments 4. Your place on a course is secured when we receive your payment in full together with your booking form (one booking form per course participant) for the course. 5. Full payment for all courses is required at the time of booking. Payments can be made through our on-line payment system, by credit card, debit card or cheque payable to 'Compass Sea School Ltd'. Cancellation Policy 6. Cancellations for any course must be made in writing (email accepted) to the school. 7. Course cancellations made 28days or greater: Course fee refunded less £35 administration charge. 8. Course cancellations made 28days or less: No refund. 9. The company shall not accept claims and shall not be liable at any time for claims or expenses caused by circumstances beyond its control including sickness, accident, travel delays, vessel breakdown, weather, strikes, war or civil unrest. Insurance 10. The school is insured, however the client is strongly recommended to take out their own insurance against cancellation, damage or loss of personal effects, death or personal injury. 11. The company and its employees accept no liability for theft, loss or damage for clients clothing, equipment and personal property howsoever caused on or off the company’s craft and within the company's training centre 12. The client acknowledges that there are inherent dangers involved in all sports, especially Powerboating and understands and agrees to sign the booking form, holding the company, its servants, agents and employees free of any liability in the event of an accident, death, injury or damage to person or property. Own Boat Tuition or Delivery 13. Own Boat Tuition / Delivery is provided on the following basis:
14. Clients provided with equipment such as waterproofs etc are responsible for their safe return at the end of each day. Damage to any item beyond normal wear and tear may render the client liable to either pay for the item in full or to pay an amount to the company as compensation (as determined by the company). 15. Individuals intending to obtain the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) are advised that under current RYA ‘rules’ it state’s: “This certificate is available only to British citizens and bona fide British Residents over the age of 16. Evidence of residency for non-citizens will be required in the form of a photocopy of a driving licence, utility bill, Council Tax bill or bank statement etc. Further authenticated evidence of residency for non-citizens may be required. The ICC is acceptable for British citizens or residents using a British flagged vessel for leisure. Other countries may accept the ICC for their native flagged vessels.” 16. All deliveries are undertaken on the owners insurance. It is the vessel owner’s responsibility to ensure that the vessel is correctly equipped and insured for the intended passage. 17. By signing the booking form you accept the above terms and conditions in their entirety. |
